What to Expect

Our Culture
  • We are a peaceful, prayer-based camp on the traditional homeland of Paiute nations
  • We follow the leadership of Indigenous grandmothers, elders, & spiritual leaders
  • All decisions will be made by these leaders or whoever they appoint in their absence.
  • We are biocentric, meaning we are in respect for & connection with the land
  • We are inclusive & respectful of everyone
  • We are engaging in above-ground civil disobedience, not sabatoge
  • We begin & end each day in prayer
  • We have morning briefs each day
Our Rules
  • No drugs or alcohol
  • No weapons of any kind
  • No threats or aggression; no hate speech
  • No vandalism or destruction of property
  • No climbing or touching the equipment
  • No flying drones near workers
  • No flying of flags
  • No photos without consent
  • No people with outstanding warrants
  • No talking to police or Lithium employees unless you are a designated liason
  • Don’t leave camp without a buddy
  • Social distance with the elders
  • Be respectful of all people
  • Be respectful of wildlife — it’s nesting season, be aware of ground nests
  • Come humble & ready to be of service
  • Stay in prayer
  • Tell leaders when you have to go

What TO Bring

Essentials
  • Sleeping bag, blankets, sleeping pad
  • Shelter (sturdy tent or sleep in your vehicle)
  • Warm clothes / sun clothes
  • Sunglasses, sunscreen, sun hat
  • Your own personal food supply (secured against wildlife)
  • Water for drinking & washing (refills in Orovada)
  • Plate, bowl, spoon, cup, etc.
  • Toiletries, extra toilet paper
Optional
  • Personal Items (journal, book, camera, computer, art supplies, instrument)
  • Car charger for phone, etc
  • Camp chair
  • Shovel (useful for fire protection)
  • Small fire extinguisher
  • Small personal first aid kit
  • Any medications you may need
  • Moisturizer, chapstick (it’s dry)
  • Donations for camp (See “Donation Requests” section. Do not bring unsolicited donations.)

What NOT to Bring

  • Drugs & alcohol
  • Weapons
  • Dogs

Safety Considerations

Come prepared for a remote location with challenging weather conditions.

Day time temperatures hot and evening temperatures are cold.

The sun and wind can be intense.

Watch out for rattlesnakes.

Don’t leave camp alone.

Bring a water & a whistle with you when you leave camp.

Be cautious with fire

Wash your hands, take care of hygiene

Directions to Camp

Use Google Maps to find your way to Orovada, Nevada. From there you will take King’s River Road (Hwy 293) to Thacker Pass. As you near the top of Thacker Pass, you’ll go under a power line. Take a right on the next dirt road, about 1/4th mile past the powerline. Go left at a fork almost immediately and follow the road. Mine construction is at 41.714606, -118.074752.
